Because there is a shift in the hormones during the teenage years, acne can be a problem. The most important thing you can do for yourself, daughter or son is to properly care for their skin. Do not over cleanse or strip the skin even though TV commercials lead you to believe it is a good idea. The best thing you can do is keep it simple. - Exfoliate gently as to not create friction if broken out)

Increase water intake

Supplements: Beat-Carotene (A), B Vitamins (B5, B6 & B12), Vitamin C, Vitamin E and Zinc. You can find proper dosage in a Multi-vitamin
A Diet rich in fresh fruits, raw & cooked vegetables, lean meats, broiled fish, chicken, whole grain cereals.
Avoid animal fats, fried foods and hydrogenated fats.
Eliminate foods containing bromides, biotin and iodine (i.e. - Shellfish)
